Weezer bassist Scott Shriner has shared an update on his wife Jillian Lauren after she was shot by police earlier this week.
It was reported yesterday that the 51-year-old allegedly came out of her house in Los Angeles holding a gun, reportedly a 9mm handgun, after a suspect involved in a nearby hit-and-run ended up in her neighbourhood.
It is alleged that she was told by police multiple times to drop the gun, but she even pointed it at officers before one pulled the trigger and shot her in the shoulder.
She then retreated into her house before emerging 30 minutes later alongside her babysitter, when she was taken to hospital and later booked by police for attempted murder.
According to the New York Times, she was charged with attempted murder on Wednesday, with her bail set at $1 million.
The events occurred around the same time as Weezer were confirmed as a last-minute addition to Coachella, the hugely popular music festival in California, and from Scott Shriner’s latest update, there seems that there is no doubt of the show going ahead.
He was seen walking their four dogs outside their house in the Eagle Rock neighbourhood of LA and provided a very casual answer, considering his wife is facing an attempted murder charge.
He told the New York Post: “She’s alright, thank you for asking. See you at Coachella!”

The band are due to play in California on Saturday afternoon, at a similar time to Ed Sheeran, who was also a late confirmation for the music and arts festival.
Footage had shown the moment that Lauren, who is the best-selling author of two memoirs, Some Girls: My Life in a Harem and Everything You Ever Wanted, emerged from the house with her hands up before being forced face down on the pavement, where she was cuffed by police.

It is reported by the NY Post that she was able to post the $1 million bond needed to secure her release, and considering her injuries from the bullet were non life-threatening, she may already be back in her LA house.
She hasn’t provided a comment on her situation.
It is also unclear the fate of the three individuals involved in the earlier hit-and-run incident, with two seemingly still at large, while the other was seemingly picked up by police following the chaotic scenes with Lauren.
