Taco Gary’s follows two brothers who embark on a cross-country road trip that quickly devolves when they become involved in a global conspiracy. K wrote the script. The filmmaker, whose real name is Michael Kvamme, is one of the founders of Funny or Die, and came up with the idea of a website for comedy shorts and brought it to his father, venture capitalist Mark Kvamme.

“This film is pure comic momentum, full of nonstop jokes, infectious fun, and the exact kind of shared experience Chroma wants audiences to have,” said the company’s vp Ahbra Perry in a statement. “The world may feel chaotic, but laughing together is still essential, and Operation Taco Gary makes that feel effortless. There’s also something comforting about an alien invasion led by Doug Jones.”

The film was brought together by Rotten Science and Mosaic. Matthew Vaughan produced the feature with exec producers including Rex, Mulligan, Jimmy Miller, M. Riley, Brian David Cange, Jack Sheehan, Scott Martin, Michael Thomas Slifkin, Bill Dawes, Patricia Lamond, Viviana Zarragoitia and David Gendron.

“The movie was born when the world stopped making sense, but instead of panicking, we ordered some tacos with a side of ketamine and made a movie,” stated K. “So yeah, this is a love letter to bad ideas, brothers, conspiracies, and the strange comfort of chaos. It’s meant to be enjoyed in theaters with your fellow earthlings.”

Chroma launched in 2025 with the intent of championing the next generation of low-budget genre filmmakers. Its first major release will be The Infinite Husk, hitting theaters in February after premiering at last year’s SXSW. The company also has a partnership with Fantastic Fest to help find and fund movie pitches.
