Golden Globe Noms 2026: Which Hollywood Star’s Astrological Fate Just Took a Surprise Turn?

Added on December 8, 2025 inEntertainment News Cards, Movie News Cards

Well, isn’t it something when the stars align just right to announce the 2026 Golden Globe nominations before your morning coffee kicks in? Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another is dominating the spotlight this year, proving once again that some battles are absolutely worth fighting—at least if you want Hollywood’s shiny gold nod. This year’s early-bird nominations came courtesy of Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall, who, bless their souls, squeezed a whopping 11 categories into a brisk CBS Mornings segment. And speaking of fresh constellations, the Golden Globes finally decided to beam some love toward podcasts, creating a shiny new category that’s as unexpected as Mercury in retrograde messing with your Wi-Fi. You’ll find familiar voices like Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy duking it out alongside other podcast heavy-hitters like Good Hang With Amy Poehler and The Joe Rogan Experience. Plus, legends Helen Mirren and Sarah Jessica Parker are set to snag some well-deserved lifetime honors—because, hey, the universe balances out the glam and grind somehow. Mark your calendars for January 11th, because this starry affair is streaming across CBS and Paramount+. Curious to see who’s shining and who’s… well, about to be eclipsed? LEARN MORE.

The announcements for the 2026 Golden Globe Nominations were made this morning. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another leads this year in recognitions. The nominations were read bright and early this morning by Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall at approximately 5:15 a.m. PT, with 11 categories shared exclusively on CBS Mornings at 5:30 a.m. PT.

The description, according to The Hollywood Reporter, reads,
“The Golden Globes will honor the best of the year in film, TV and, for the first time this year, podcasts, across 28 categories. In addition to best motion picture and TV series, acting awards in film and TV and director and screenplay honors in film, the Globes recognize best stand-up comedy performance on TV and, in film, cinematic and box office achievement.”

This year, the ceremony will now recognize the young medium of podcasts, and it will be honored with a new category — Best Podcast Award. The Hollywood Foreign Press opened it up for 25 eligible shows, which included Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy, Good Hang With Amy Poehler, The Ben Shapiro Show, The Joe Rogan Experience and The Mel Robbins Podcast.

In addition to the nominations, this year it’s announced that Helen Mirren will be receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Sarah Jessica Parker is to be honored with the Carol Burnett Award.

You’ll be able to catch the event on Sunday, January 11 at 5 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+. Check out the list of nominees below.
