George Clooney Responds To Acting Criticism

To put it plainly, George Clooney has been acting for a long-ass time.

Sometimes — not always, but sometimes — when an actor has an extensive career, they tend to give performances that may seem, uh, similar to the typical viewer.

Perhaps, when it comes to George’s career specifically, you have found yourself watching performances from him and thinking, “Wait — I’ve seen him do this before. Isn’t he just playing himself at this point?”

Well, if you’ve ever had that reaction, George has some pretty strong words for you.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, George came straight for the haters’ collective neck — and, suffice to say, he did not miss. “Do people say that I only play myself? I don’t give a shit,” he said. Talk that talk, man!

“There aren’t that many guys in my age group that are allowed to do both broad comedies like O Brother [Where Art Thou?] and then do Michael Clayton or Syriana,” he continued. “So if that means I’m playing myself all the time, I don’t give a shit.”

“Have you ever tried playing yourself? It’s hard to do.”

You know what, fair enough. Read the entire interview here.
