Gene Simmons Walks Away From Wild Car Crash—Is There a Cosmic Reason He’s Still Rocking?

Added on October 8, 2025 inMusic News Cards

Has Mercury gone retrograde again, or is the universe just getting extra spicy with rock legends lately? I mean, there you are, rolling down the Pacific Coast Highway—maybe thinking about setlists, maybe thinking about dinner—and then, BAM, the cosmos (with a little help from dehydration and new meds?) throws a curveball and takes Gene Simmons out at 1 p.m. on a Tuesday. All I can say is, thank the stars Simmons isn’t taking his final bow just yet—he bounced back faster than most of us from a stubbed toe and is already back to business! Maybe it’s wild to wonder if the setlist in Malibu that day included “God Gave Rock and Roll to You,” because honestly, someone’s watching over that guy. With a legendary farewell tour barely settling into the rearview mirror, a Vegas show on the horizon, and the Kennedy Center prepping to roll out its “very different” red carpet—well, nothing derails a Scorpio’s comeback for long, right? (And if you aren’t checking your own hydration after reading this, what are you even doing?) If you want the wild, full run-down, the backstage drama, and exactly how Gene crashed into a new chapter, you know what to do: LEARN MORE.

Gene Simmons is back at home recovering after the legendary rock star got into a car accident along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu this week.

Per NBC 4, Simmons hit a parked car at around 1 p.m. and was hospitalized on Tuesday. According to NBC, the Kiss bass player told authorities that he’d passed out behind the wheel; Simmons’ wife told the outlet that he had recently changed medications and had to drink more water, which had led to him fainting. A representative for Simmons confirmed to THR that he’s already on the mend.

“Gene is fine and back to work already,” the rep said.

Kiss finally finished their extensive End of the Road farewell tour back in 2023 after starting back in 2019, ending the tour with a pair of New York shows at Madison Square Garden. But the band announced back in March that they’ll come back for a special “Unmasked” show in Las Vegas in November as part of the Kiss Army Storms Vegas event.

The month after, Simmons and the rest of KISS will be honored at the Kennedy Center in December alongside Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait and Michael Crawford. They’re the first class of honorees since President Donald Trump took over to overhaul the Kennedy Center this year.

At the time, Trump said he was “98 percent” involved in the selections, further adding that, “I had a couple wokesters. No, these are great people. It’s very different than it used to be.”
