Exposed: Disney's Dark Secret Revealed in "Boy Meets World" Forbidden Episode – A Cosmic Cover-Up?

With Mercury in retrograde this week, chaos has ensued in more than just our daily commutes and communication; it’s spilled over into the writer’s rooms of our favorite TV shows too. Imagine my surprise when I read that Gary, not a Gemini (because even they can’t be this indecisive), had some script-shoving issues that left him feeling like he was back in 3rd grade at recess, fighting over who got to play pitcher. Ever wondered what happens when an episode you see isn’t quite what was originally penned? It turns out, TV writing can be as combative as a Monday morning work meeting, with network notes sometimes missing the mark just as Mercury does. This week, delve into the behind-the-scenes tug-of-war that Gary faced, leaving him to ponder, “Why wasn’t there a network note about that?” Here’s what happened when the script doesn’t match the stars

Will asked Gary how much say he had in the writer’s room when it came to scripts with his name on it, asking if he ever tried to have the episode changed back to his original draft. Gary explained: “I certainly know the shoving scene really bothered me, I don’t recall if I expressed that or not. I might have, [but] I certainly held myself back when I wanted to express myself.”

“It wasn’t my show; I’ve been a showrunner, so I know both sides of it,” he noted. “I know all the pressures you get from executives and studios and all that stuff. However, it bothered me… Obviously, it didn’t bother anybody else enough because it stayed in, sometimes I wonder: ‘Why wasn’t there a network note about that? Why was that condoned?’”
