Things aren’t looking good for Diddy.

The post Diddy’s Radio Airtime Takes Major Hit Amid Federal Investigation appeared first on HotNewHipHop.

Earlier this week, Diddy made headlines—not for another chart-topping hit, but for his arrest in New York City. This news isn’t exactly a shocker, seeing as the hip-hop mogul has been embroiled in a whirlwind of serious allegations and lawsuits lately. Multiple charges have been thrown his way, and if things go south in court, he could be facing life behind bars. But according to TMZ, it seems his legal troubles aren’t the only thing affecting him significantly.

Sources from Audacy, a major player in the radio world, recently revealed that many of their stations stopped spinning Diddy’s tracks earlier this year. This decision came just after security footage resurfaced online, showing Diddy in a troubling incident with Cassie back in 2016. Fast forward to now, and following his arrest, it appears that his music has been completely pulled from the airwaves. Ouch!

Scrolling through the updates, I stumbled upon an image of Diddy from a 2019 event—man, does he look different now. Can you believe it’s the same guy? He was once the life of every party, and now he’s facing some serious demons.

An iHeartRadio spokesperson chimed in, explaining that their stations operate a bit like a buffet—you never know what you’re gonna get! Some stations cut Diddy from their playlists months ago, while others only did so after the shocking footage made its rounds on social media. Even at 93.5 KDAY, they’ve jumped on the bandwagon, completely cutting ties but keeping their reasons hush-hush. As of now, Diddy finds himself chilling in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His plea for bail was tossed aside once again, with the judge calling him a potential flight risk.

“The government has clearly shown the defendant is a danger,” U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter sternly stated. His bail package wasn’t cutting it, and that’s putting it lightly. Diddy’s lawyer confirmed that he’s been placed on suicide watch—which is standard procedure for situations like this—yet insists he’s holding up well. You’d think he came back from a wellness retreat given that the lawyer described him as “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.” I mean, can you imagine being as upbeat as he is?

So, what do you think about Diddy’s diminishing presence on the radio? Are you surprised that his music is getting kicked to the curb after everything that’s happened? Is it just a matter of time before we see a musical comeback or his last dance in the limelight? Share your thoughts below, and keep it locked on HNHH for more on this unfolding saga.

Earlier this week, Diddy was arrested in New York City. Of course, the arrest didn’t exactly come out of the blue, as the mogul has faced countless damning allegations and lawsuits in recent months. He’s been hit with multiple charges and could face a maximum of life in prison if convicted. According to TMZ, however, his freedom isn’t the only thing that’s taken a major hit.

Sources connected to Audacy recently told the outlet that most of their stations stopped playing Diddy’s music earlier this year. This was shortly after the security footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie at a hotel in 2016 surfaced online. Now, the sources say that since his arrest, they’ve stopped playing his music entirely.

An iHeartRadio spokesperson also spoke with the outlet and explained that each station in their national syndication is different. While some stopped playing Diddy’s songs several months ago, others only stopped once the aforementioned footage of Cassie’s assault went public. A rep for 93.5 KDAY said they stopped playing Diddy’s music too, but failed to specify exactly why. Currently, Diddy is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His request for pre-trial release on bail was denied for a second time earlier this week, as the judge labeled him a potential flight risk.

“The government has proven the defendant is a danger,” U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter said. “The bail package is insufficient even on risk of flight.” His lawyer has since confirmed that he’s been placed on suicide watch per the facility’s protocol, but claims the mogul is “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.” What do you think of Diddy getting less radio play following his arrest? Are you surprised by this or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
