Authorities found a decomposing body in an impounded Tesla that is registered to bedroom pop singer D4vd, according to reports from the Los Angeles Times and ABC 7.

Police responded to a call at around 12:20 p.m. yesterday over reports of “a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard,” an LAPD public information officer confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. The public information officer told THR that they couldn’t confirm the owner of the vehicle, though an anonymous law enforcement source told the L.A. Times that the car was registered to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

D4vd has grown increasingly popular since he first broke through on TikTok back in 2022, releasing his debut album Withered back in April. He’s currently on tour, having just played at the Sylvee in Madison, Wisconsin on Sept. 7, and at the Fairgrounds at the Salt Shed in Chicago the day prior. He is still expected to play a show in Minneapolis this evening. A spokesperson told NBC News that D4vd “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”

A representative for Interscope, D4vd’s record label, referred The Hollywood Reporter to the singer’s attorney, though the attorney hasn’t responded to a request for comment or more information.

Per the L.A. Times, the LAPD found a second set of human remains in another tow yard this week as well.

Law enforcement has yet to identify the body found D4vd’s car, and law enforcement sources told NBC that “identification is going to be delayed” because of how much the victim’s body has decomposed.
