Cruz Beckham’s Response To Brooklyn Beckham Statement

The whole thing was incredibly damning, and it’s no exaggeration to say that Brooklyn’s decision to air all of the dirty laundry sent the internet into fever pitch. You can read an extensive, in-depth recap of the entire feud here, or the details of Brooklyn’s statement here.

Brooklyn’s major claims included his mom, Victoria Beckham, apparently “dancing very inappropriately on” him at his and Nicola’s wedding, and his family “consistently” disrespecting Nicola — both before and after their wedding. Brooklyn also claimed that they didn’t attend his dad, David Beckham’s, 50th birthday party last year when David only agreed to seeing his eldest son prior to the event without Nicola. He also said that his “family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”

Brooklyn firmly stated that he has absolutely no intention of reconciling with his family, and added that he has been “controlled” by his famous parents for “most” of his life, which resulted in him growing up with “overwhelming anxiety.” His little brothers, 23-year-old Romeo and 20-year-old Cruz, also caught some strays, with Brooklyn writing: “My brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.”

For what it’s worth, Cruz previously claimed that he and his entire family woke up blocked by Brooklyn just before Christmas. In fact, over the last year, Cruz has become pretty loose with his social media activity when it comes to his family’s feud — for example, in April, he raised eyebrows when he appeared to brazenly mock Nicola on Instagram.

For reference, Romeo previously had a five-year on-again, off-again relationship with model Mia Regan, who he split from for good in February 2024. Mia posted a photo of her Pop cover story to her Instagram account on Apr. 5, 2025, and Nicola notably shared her admiration as she commented: “so beautiful mia 🩷✨,” which Mia liked at the time.

Just two days later, on Apr. 7, the Beckham brothers seemingly threw shade at Nicola’s comment when Romeo shared a collection of photos to his Instagram account. Undeniably mocking Nicola, Cruz commented on the post: “So beautiful Romeo ✨🩷,” with Romeo replying: “😂😂”

The following month, Cruz took it upon himself to defend his parents’ honor after Brooklyn posted a video of himself and Nicola with the caption: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby❤️❤️,” which many interpreted to be a swipe at his parents.

And Cruz seemingly had the same interpretation, because soon after Brooklyn posted, he shared a telling statement of his own to his Instagram story alongside a family photo from when everybody got together to celebrate Victoria’s show at Paris Fashion Week in September 2024 — including Brooklyn and Nicola. Pointedly, Cruz posted a picture that Nicola wasn’t in, and wrote: “I love my family, I love you guys more than anything, mum & dad, you gave us life and cared for us no matter what, I cannot tell you how blessed we all are to have you in our lives x.”

Then, in June, Cruz couldn’t resist taking a jab at Brooklyn after somebody seemingly mistook him for his older brother. As I’m sure you know, Brooklyn’s various short-lived careers over the years have made him the butt of the joke in pop culture, and when Cruz posted a video of himself singing to TikTok, another internet user wrote: “going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something,” to which Cruz quipped in response: “Wrong brother mate.”

He has also been the only member of the Beckham family to publicly speak out about the rumors surrounding them. When it was widely reported that Brooklyn was upset because Romeo started dating his ex Kim Turnbull in late 2024, Cruz explicitly stated: “Brooklyn and Kim never dated,” (for what it’s worth, Kim herself has also issued a statement vehemently denying any romantic involvement with Brooklyn).

And when tabloids mistakenly reported that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram last month, Cruz was quick to set the record straight. Sharing a Daily Mail headline about the unfollowing to his Instagram story, Cruz wrote: “NOT TRUE My mum and dad would never unfollow their son.. Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”

So, with all of this in mind, when Brooklyn’s shocking statement dropped on Monday night, it’s not unreasonable to speculate that Cruz probably had to be physically restrained from his phone to stop him from sharing a statement of his own.

However, Cruz has made his feelings clear in a more subtle way, with the youngest Beckham boy being caught liking playful memes about Brooklyn’s claims on Instagram — suggesting that he can see the funny side of the whole situation.

If you have been anywhere near the internet in the last 48 hours, you’re probably aware that people are having a field day with Brooklyn’s claim that Victoria “danced very inappropriately on” him at his wedding, with many people sharing clips of provocative dances and joking that this was Victoria on the dance floor.

And Cruz has been spotted liking at least two of these. The first is a clip of Victoria herself clad in leather while dancing and performing her post-Spice Girls solo single “Not Such An Innocent Girl” back in 2001. The caption simply reads: “The wedding dance in question.”

The other post is an Instagram reel from comic @Olly_1010 depicting the DJ at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding. Olly says: “And now for the song requested from the mother of the groom for her first dance with her son.” Olly’s face then drops in horror and concern as “Pony” by Ginuwine starts playing. For reference, “Pony” is strongly associated with stripping thanks to its slow, grinding, and bass-heavy production, as well as its provocative lyrics.

So far, Victoria, David, and Romeo have not responded to Brooklyn’s statement in any capacity. However, David did make some telling comments during a pre-arranged appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday.

During his discussion about social media with CNBC’s Squawk Box, David said: “I’ve always spoken about social media and the power of social media, for the good and for the bad.”

“The bad we’ve talked about, with what kids can access these days. It can be dangerous, but what I’ve found personally, especially with my kids as well; use it for the right reasons,” he continued. “I’ve been able to use my platform and my following for UNICEF, and it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”

“I’ve tried to do the same with my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn,” David added. “So, that’s what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”

To reiterate, David did not mention Brooklyn in any capacity during his appearance, and these quotes were part of a broader, pre-arranged conversation on the dangers of social media.
