“Chasing the Illusion: How Pursuing the Wrong Goal Can Sabotage Your Success”

Added on January 31, 2025 inASTROLOGY CARDS

Have you ever spent years chasing a relationship or a goal, only to realize you were barking up the wrong tree? Oh, trust me, I’ve been there—back in my twenties, I learned the hard way that many folks have a skewed idea of what truly brings happiness and fulfillment. Just imagine wasting decades on something that doesn’t fit your life’s puzzle! You might even grab onto the wrong pieces, hoping they’ll make sense, only to discover they’re a complete mismatch.

In our quest for connection, ambition, or purpose, it’s so easy to misjudge what we actually need. And let’s be real—when you pursue the wrong goal, the universe has a funny way of reminding you, often with a big ol’ face-palm moment. Take a moment to reflect: are you climbing the right mountain, or are you just getting your cardio in while going nowhere?

Let’s dive into this intriguing topic, because trust me, understanding your goals and relationships can change your life trajectory dramatically. Spoiler alert: sometimes, letting go might just be the key to living your best life. LEARN MORE

Back in my twenties, I realized a significant percentage of people had the wrong idea of what’s right for them in regards to relationships.  If this is your situation, you can lose years or even decades, barking up the wrong tree.

I covered this here in one minute:

It’s also possible to chase the wrong goal. You’re after something that’s not right for you! When this is the case, you may or may not get what you want.

Generally, you do not get what you want. If this happens, you may figure out you’re after the wrong thing, dig deeper and switch gears… or you may become mad at the world.
If you do get the thing that’s wrong for you, it invariably blows up in your face.

None of these outcomes are optimal.  If you’re chasing something or someone, hard, and getting nowhere, it’s probably worth your time and trouble to revaluate. It may be you need to continue to push, but it may also be, you’re attempting to climb the wrong mountain.  I think the upcoming Jupiter/Saturn square would be a good time to look at this.

I’m prompted to write this, because I was telling a client of a time I held on to a person in my life, wanting them to fit in my puzzle?

In reality, they did not belong in my picture.  When I tossed that one piece, my life began to fit together, almost immediately.

Are you chasing the right goal?
