I can’t say I was surprised to be triggered this morning, with Mars in Virgo squaring Uranus. I knew immediately what was underway. It was my dentist that set me off. It’s hysterical.
The office sent a text, at six-thirty in the morning. As of the end of the month, all patients must pay in cash, or be assessed a 3% fee.
It’s not that I don’t understand credit cards charge merchants. I am a merchant! It’s not that I can’t pay cash for my dental work. My problem was the timing of this. The insensitivity of it.
This is a very small town, with no shortage of people living close to the edge. Plenty of people have to pay for their dental work, over time. It’s not like it’s cheap!
To be clear, our prior dentist that recently retired had the same policy. The difference was, his prices were reasonable. This dentist charges top dollar. I know, as we have spent A LOT of money there… but not anymore.
I had a new dentist, by 8:15. I was slow, because I had a client until 8 am! You just don’t tack 3% on to your bill when your clients are by and large, struggling. I made my new appointment and called to cancel my appointment with this dentist. Judging by the sound of the gal’s voice, I don’t think I was the only one.
I have been noticing this, recently. Failure to read the room!
I’d be careful in this regard, if you don’t want to suffer an immediate backlash. I just thought it was funny. Mars in Virgo healthcare!
