Friday night, the Aquarius Moon conjoins Pallas Athena and squares Vesta on its way into exact fullness early Saturday. The Moon and Pallas move into opposition with the Leo Sun as both Sun and Moon square Vesta in Scorpio: a fixed t-square.
As Vesta moves into conjunction with Juno, passion, commitment, and rivalry dip their fingers into the mix. Where have you carried and curried a grudge? Check your Scorpio house, because that foundation may be about to crumble. Grudges rarely withstand having their basis, their unmet needs sated. And the upshot? Challenges faced, paths to a better worldview laid.
So Friday night? A breezy mood is just right for facing the fire AND encouraging a rising tide. Once the tide passes, treasure is in its wake.
Venus spends the weekend moving closer into conjunction with Jupiter in Cancer, and both creep up on trines to Vesta and Juno. As Juno’s natural pairing, Jupiter supports an improvement in the quality and quantity of our cherished relationships (or the obliteration if Q&Q aren’t there). Add in Venus and the Moon’s rulership, and the whole challenge is less about blood and guts and more about breaking out some snacks to appreciate things from the sidelines.
Jupiter in Cancer is mighty and motivating. It will elicit an emotional response. Mightily crabby can also be a response.
To quote the TARDIS from Doctor Who: “Biting’s excellent. It’s like kissing, only there’s a winner.” And such is Mars in Libra, opposing Saturn and Neptune exactly Friday night, both retrograde, both in Mars-ruled Aries. Mars also trines Gemini Uranus and retro Pluto in Aquarius for a fully kitted out kite worth flying. Everyone has the potential to win this weekend, but not everyone will feel that way. Sometimes the biting HURTS.
This weekend bears the potential of a fix that’s been a LONG time coming. It is not something you could have anticipated. Exciting!
Not everything is movie-worthy or headline-ready. Want an example? I got in to a new dentist for an exam. That usually means making an appointment MONTHS out. I got in on two days’ notice. Her opinion on my x-rays means I don’t have to have the work done the other dentist insisted was necessary. AND, she filed down the edges of six of my teeth, fixing (FIXING) the nasty cross bite two orthodontists couldn’t budge 40 years ago. In an EXAM. I’m ECSTATIC. But that’s also a stupidly boring win.
Would I rather have found the love of my life? In theory… I should say yes. In reality, this is probably better. I can bite and chew things. Kissing can come later. Also my teeth look nice now. I’m pretty pleased, and isn’t that ultimately what we’re after? Can you be pleased? That is a gift in itself. A BIG one, a Jupiter-sized benefit.
Mercury is nearing the end of its retro period in Leo, and it heads toward opposition to retro Pluto and trines to retro Saturn-Neptune. All weekend it inches, and the senses sparkle, thirsty and laid bare from all that fire and air. The power of perspective comes from the inside to the outside and filters back in through the insides… then back out to mirror its effect. Outwardly invisible mind movement makes all the difference.
Can you hear what you’re thinking? Put it into motion and meaning echos like radar. Perspective is figuratively a mental process; it’s also a physical reality that impacts such. TOUCH things, taste things; pick them up and move them around till your mind makes sense of their existence. When you understand, reality will shift, and the power is there to execute your moves at an even greater scale. Mercury moves back as Mars moves forward; all weekend they sextile. Look for opportunities to exercise both body and mind together. If nothing else: walk and talk, walk and listen. Observe and participate.
Saturday night, the Aquarius Moon is still bright and it sextiles Chiron in Aries. Openness, a mood for novelty leads to opportunity for growth and mastery. It’s also a chance to practice what’s not yet perfect. That’s what mastery comes from. Novelty and practice don’t always go together, unless you don’t usually practice, I suppose. If you want to be good at something or have good things continue once you hit the spot, once is not enough. But that doesn’t mean it has to be the same approach every time! This mood helps you access all the high points (and find new ones to add in).
Overnight into Sunday morning, the Moon moves to Pisces and the point of a yod from the Mercury-Mars sextile. The Pisces Moon also moves through the midpoint of the Saturn-Neptune to Pluto sextile. If you’re looking to shift reality, there is no better time.
Sunday’s Pisces Moon goes on to trine the tightening Venus-Neptune conjunction, and the longing is intense but satisfying. Or… if you need the great release of a tidal wave cry, this might be the day that does it. If you want more for yourself, wish away. Pisces promises a lot. It always delivers something, but who knows what that will look like. It’s likely to shift and change anyhow. Still, it’s worth the wishing. That wishing expands your very capacity to be gifted in the future.
“Happy talk, keep talking happy talk… you’ve got to have dream; if you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?” South Pacific
The full moon takes place early Saturday at the very end of 16 degrees Aquarius. Where does that hit your chart? Are you open to a change? Do you have a dream?
The Moon’s the North Wind’s cooky.
He bites it, day by day,
Until there’s but a rim of scraps
That crumble all away.
The South Wind is a baker.
He kneads clouds in his den,
And bakes a crisp new moon that . . . greedy
North . . . Wind . . . eats . . . again!
