This article contains spoilers for Severance season two

Fans of Severance who had to wait for three years to wait for season two can tell you, it’s an experience no one wants to go through again.

Severance’s absolutely massive cliffhanger ending to season one left fans with questions, queries, and theories that had to be sat on from the finale’s air date in April 2022 through to season two’s premiere in January 2025.

Season two’s finale somehow managed to one-up that of season one, and has left fans in a place where they are desperate to not wait another three years.

The show’s second season ended with a critically beloved finale, Cold Harbour ,which is currently sitting at a whopping 9.7 on IMDb.

The episode ends with innie Mark managing to get Gemma/Miss Casey out of MDR. Rather than continue on and leaving with her, giving control to his outtie, Mark instead decides to run to Helly, with the pair running back into the belly of Lumon.

Ben Stiller, the primary director and executive producer of the show, has reassured fans that the wait to find out what happens to Helly and Mark won’t be as long as between season one and two.

When asked about it an exclusive interview with the LADbible group, Stiller said: “I mean, honestly, the idea is just to try it as hard as we can to get it out as soon as possible. But it’s always that process.

“You know, you want to make something that is when it gets out people like it and feel like it is what it should be.

“So that’s the challenge always for us. We’ve had so many sort of, you know, natural things that have happened in the world each season.”

Stiller then joked that there is ‘an asteroid they keep talking about’, leading creator Dan Erickson to joke that they are ‘monitoring it’.

The Zoolander star finally added: “But, I mean, you know, at some point when we’ll obviously announce [the release date].”

The director has previously spoken about the issue, assuring fans that it won’t be a three-year wait, saying on ITV’s This Morning: “I would love to tell you how long you’ll have to wait, but the goal is definitely not to wait three years, between two and three.”

Based on how season two of Severance has been received however, it is definitely fair to expect the wait to be a lot shorter this time around.

The show’s second season set records, becoming Apple TV+’s most watched show.
