If Mercury is in retrograde when you open your Spotify Wrapped, does it mean your ex’s breakup playlist will sneak back into your “top played”? Or does it just explain why you listened to the same sad Billie Eilish song 183 times instead of finishing your overdue emails? Today is THAT day—the unofficial holiday when the world collectively cringes at its guilty pleasures, and the bravest among us share their top artists to the horror of our astrological birth charts. Is it a coincidence that, under today’s impulsive Sagittarius moon, our musical secrets spill out at the exact same moment as a thousand “Bad Bunny or bust!” memes flood your feed? I think not.

Every year, Spotify Wrapped swoops in, morphing us from respectable adults into starstruck superfans, but 2025 has truly outdone itself. From Bad Bunny out-streaming the population of several solar systems (seriously, how is 19.5 billion even a number?) to Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” making waves but missing the global crown because, well, cosmic timing—this year’s stats are as unpredictable as an Aries with a caffeine rush. And with new features promising to pit your music taste against your entire friend group, plus a spooky AI-driven “listening age” reality check, I’ll be over here mulling over whether my astrological sign justifies the amount of KPop on my playlist . Want to dive deep into all the cosmic chaos and celebrity surprises in the new Spotify Wrapped? LEARN MORE.

It’s the internet’s favorite day of the year — Spotify Wrapped — and the streaming platform rolled out updates in its year-end experience and 2025 year-long lists Wednesday morning.

Without a doubt, 2025 belonged to Bad Bunny, who landed atop Spotify’s global top artist and global top album list for the January-released Debí Tirar Más Fotos. He returned to the No. 1 spot of the artist list with 19.5 billion streams on the platform globally; he previously took the top spot in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Bad Bunny’s lead single from the album, “DtMF,” came in at No. 5 on the global songs of the year list.

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking album The Life of a Showgirl was noticeably absent from the global top lists, however, it’s likely due to the short window after the album was released and when tracking for 2025 ended. It’s likely that Swift’s album will show up in the 2026 top global albums list as it remains successful on the charts. The singer did land at No. 2 on the global top artists of the year list and at No. 1 of the U.S. top artists list. The Life of a Showgirl also made an appearance at No. 7 of the U.S. albums of 2025 list.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ smash hit “Die With A Smile” topped the global top songs of 2025, with Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “Apt” and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” rounding out the top four spots. Sombr’s breakout hit, “Back to Friends,” scored the No. 6 spot; Huntrix, the fictional girl group from KPop Demon Hunters, landed at No. 7; Kendrick Lamar’s “Luther” featuring SZA took the No. 8 spot; Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True” landed at No. 9; Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower” rounded out the top 10.

KPop Demon Hunters, unsurprisingly, finished strong on Spotify’s year-end lists taking the No. 2 spot on the global top albums of 2025 list and No. 4 on the U.S. albums of 2025 list. Along with its top 10 finish on the global songs list, “Golden” also landed at No. 6 on the U.S. songs list.

For users at home, Wednesday’s Spotify Wrapped rollout included some new features like the introduction of personal top albums of the year. Spotify, which noted the heavy user feedback from the 2024 Wrapped during an early presentation to press, seems committed to making 2025 a very new experience. Listening age is a new stat added to each user’s Wrapped roundup that looks at the release dates of the music a listener consumes and assigns an age accordingly.

The year-end roundup also now assigns listeners clubs based on the vibes of the songs they consume. Users can now check how they measure up to other fans with the introduction of the fan leaderboard. However, the biggest addition to the 2025 Wrapped is the introduction of Wrapped Party, a new interactive feature, which turns the listener’s data into a live competition that can be played with friends.

Spotify users can visit the 2025 Wrapped hub to get their Wrapped, however, it should show natively in app. The full list of top music and more of the year can be found on Spotify’s website.
