So here we are, on a day when Mercury is doing its usual dance of confusion and miscommunication—ironic, right? Because nothing screams “lost in translation” quite like Lt. Johnston in Clayton, Alabama, standing in the pouring rain, blocking two young Black boys kneeling with their hands raised. People ask the obvious: “Why?” And does the officer answer? Nope. Instead, he throws threats at those filming, insisting it’s alright since the boys weren’t handcuffed. Like, really? Later, with the boys now in the back of his patrol car, Lt. Johnson dishes out warnings like some celestial bad moon rising—but the reason behind detaining these kids? Still a cosmic mystery. Makes you wonder if his star chart’s stuck in retrograde or just plain clueless. LEARN MORE.

Lt Johnston in Clayton, Alabama becomes aggressive with bystanders who find him standing in front of two young Black boys on the ground, in the rain, with their hands above their heads.

The onlookers film their interaction with him and ask why he has these young boys on the ground. The officer doesn’t answer the question. Instead he threatens to arrest the people video recording him and says that the boys aren’t even handcuffed, as if that makes it better.

Later in the video, other officers are now on the scene and the first cop identifies himself as Lieutenant Johnson. With the boys sitting in the back of his patrol car, the officer makes a comment warning them about where they hangout.

There’s still no clear reason why this officer detained these boys.
