According to a source speaking to Star Magazine, Meghan has “taken control of everything” as she and Prince Harry move into a new chapter of their public life.

“Meghan is making it clear she’s steering the ship, and that’s not really up for debate right now,” the insider claimed. “She genuinely believes that’s the only way they survive this next phase.”

As previously reported, the couple has been reshaping their public image. Part of that shift includes rebranding their charity, now known as Archewell Philanthropies, as well as downsizing their team.

In December, Page Six reported that three out of five staff members were dismissed.

The Star Magazine source also revealed that Meghan is heavily involved in the day-to-day running of their ventures.

She is reportedly chairing meetings, shaping overall strategy, and even drafting public statements herself.

“Every major decision now runs through Meghan first,” the insider claimed.

They continued, “It’s a very hands-on approach and no doubt exhausting, but she says that it’s the only way things can get done to her standards.”

Harry, 41, is also said to defer to his wife on both professional and personal matters.

“Whether that’s going on a boys’ ski trip or getting a haircut,” Meghan “gets the final say,” the source alleged.

However, there are growing questions about how sustainable this dynamic may be. While Harry is described as generally supportive of Meghan’s leadership, the insider suggests underlying tension.

“He generally does go along with whatever Meghan wants, but that doesn’t mean he likes it or that it’s sustainable,” the source explained. “Meghan truly thinks she’s doing what’s best, but her friends are warning her that Harry’s showing signs he’s nearing his limit.”

During the discussion, Meghan and Harry spoke candidly about parenting their two children, Archie and Lilibet, emphasizing the importance of staying “present” as a family.

At the event, Harry and Meghan joined authors Jonathan Haidt and Catherine Price to discuss their new book, “The Amazing Generation,” which explores the impact of smartphones and social media on children’s development and offers practical solutions for families.

Harry praised the authors’ work, calling the research “incredibly valuable.”

“Over the years, we’ve worked with how the digital spaces [are] deeply affecting our collective and mental, emotional, and physical health,” he said. “Obviously, a huge congratulations to you and the outcome of your research, which has created a parent-led movement, which is astonishing and much needed.”

Meghan echoed his sentiments, noting that she and Harry are “proud to be part” of the movement and shared how they apply these principles at home.

“You cannot replace the feeling of a deep, guttural belly laugh,” she said. “An emoji laugh is not the same physiological response that we need, that our kids need. What I love is that the more that we encourage our children to do this, the more we mimic those same behaviors. We also start to play, and we also start to be more present.”

The Sussexes Promote Healthier Habits Through The Parents’ Network

Harry and Meghan have long spoken out about the dangers posed by social media and digital spaces, particularly for young people.

In 2024, they helped establish The Parents’ Network, an initiative designed to bring together families who have been affected by online harm or social media-related suicide involving their children.

Developed from a two-year pilot program, the network offers support and resources to parents across the UK, the US, and Canada.

During the latter part of the virtual discussion, Harry expanded on the topic by asking how what researchers describe as a “phone-based childhood” impacts emotional development, and what steps families can take to encourage healthier habits.

In response, author Jonathan Haidt emphasized the importance of playing. He said, “Kids need to play. All mammals play, and once they get the device, it’s going to push out everything else.”

Haidt warned that excessive phone use can lead to reduced sleep, less reading, fewer in-person interactions with peers, and decreased time spent outdoors. “They are not going to get as much sunshine, not as much exercise,” he added.

Back in October 2025, Harry and Meghan’s efforts in promoting mental wellness and advocating for safer online spaces for young people and families were rewarded after they were honored with the Humanitarians of the Year award at Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala.
