Nicki Minaj surprised the nation by joining Donald Trump at the Trump Accounts Summit, and it seems as if the ‘Starships’ hitmaker wasn’t expecting to be pulled on stage alongside the president.

Minaji, real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, is a proud Trump supporter and has happily vocalized how she feels about the president during his second term at the White House.

Her feelings towards the Trump administration have left many surprised as Minaj previously described herself as an illegal immigrant – she was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to the US as a child.

While there’s been a petition to deport the rapper to her home country, she’s made it clear that she’s not leaving the US anytime soon as she continues to forge an apparent relationship with Trump.

She even attended the Trump Accounts Summit yesterday and was invited on stage by the president, something which body language expert Darren Staten thinks she wasn’t expecting.

Trump was speaking at the event when he asked the rapper if she wanted to come up on stage. They held hands for a brief period of time while greeting one another and the POTUS appeared to plant a kiss on her head before he invited her to speak at the podium.

Speaking to UNILAD on behalf of Covers, Stanton broke down Minaj’s behavior.

“Although Nicki is in full support of Trump, it did feel like she was a bit on the spot,” he said.

“Like a lot of performers, she’s very extroverted on stage and ‘at work’ but I think she seemed reluctant to come up and was quite overwhelmed. She showed heavy breathing, and it didn’t appear to be a rehearsed piece to camera.

“It seemed as though it was unexpected and she appeared slightly hesitant to come up with Trump.

“He held his arms out as if to give her a hug but she just shook his hand, which was quite awkward.

“She does appear honest and open and shows genuine support, but she showed signs of feeling on the spot and uncomfortable from the way she was breathing, and she made lots of pauses when speaking.”

Doubling down on Minaj’s apparent reluctance to go up on stage, Staton went on to say: “She was at the front of the stage, but it took her quite a bit of time to get her on the stage — which is significant.

“From the way she walked into shot, there was an uneasiness, as though she wasn’t completely sure of herself.

“When people walk with purpose, they take bigger strides and walk quicker. The posture and way she walked showed a slight hesitancy, not that she’s afraid to be associated with Trump, but just the fact there was a reluctance to have him hug her.”

“The fluidity of her posture wasn’t constant,” he added. “The way she walked was quite labored and she took quite a bit of coaxing to get onto stage.”

In her speech the rapper described herself as Trump’s ‘number one fan’ and said that the ‘hate’ she has received of late ‘motivates [her] to support him more’.
