Nicki Minaj aimed a homophobic slur at a journalist who reported on a ICE protest during a church service.
The rapper and advocate of Donald Trump hit out at Don Lemon, who was issued a warning by the Justice Department after he joined a group of anti-ICE protesters, who stormed a Sunday church service in St. Paul.
Harmeet Dhillon, the Justice Department’s assistant attorney general for civil rights, said on X: “A house of worship is not a public forum for your protest! It is a space protected from exactly such acts by federal criminal and civil laws!
“Nor does the First Amendment protect your pseudo journalism of disrupting a prayer service.”
“You are on notice!” she added, noting in a follow-up post that the FBI has been ‘activated’ and accusing the protesters of “desecrating a house of worship and interfering with Christian worshippers.”

Taking to X, Minaj wrote: “DON ‘C**K SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU?
“I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!”
Lemon – who has been married real estate agent Tim Malone since 2024 – has been reporting on the violent protests following the shooting of Renee Good.
The news reporter, however, insisted that he has ‘no affiliations’ with the protestors and defending his actions as ‘an act of journalism’.
“The MAGA administration and the fake news MAGAs are losing their mind over something that’s not even true,” Lemon said

It comes after Minaj deactivated her Instagram account following the backlash over her support of the Trump administration.
“I would like to thank President Trump for prioritising this issue and his leadership on the global stage in calling for urgent action to defend Christians in Nigeria and to combat extremism and to bring a stop to violence against those who simply want to express their natural right to freedom of religion or belief,” she said during an event at the United Nations headquarters on 18 November.
Since her public backing of the Republican party, Minaj has become more vocal about her political views, and appeared at a Turning Point USA convention alongside Erika Kirk.

Alongside the new Turning Point CEO and the widow of Charlie Kirk, Minaj was talking about ‘role models’ in politics and accidentally made an ‘assassin’ comment.
Minaj told the crowd: “Dear young men, you have amazing role models, like our handsome, dashing president. And you have amazing role models like the assassin, JD Vance, our vice-president.”
Erika took Minaj’s comment for a mistake as the Turning Point boss said: “Trust me, there is nothing new under the sun that I have not heard. I love you. You have to laugh about it, truly.”
