Is it just me, or did Mercury retrograde hit the music industry so hard that even Harry Styles took a four-year vow of silence? Well, cue the cosmic confetti—because our favorite chart-dominating, disco-dancing Gemini is spinning back into orbit . It’s as if the universe itself pressed shuffle and finally landed back on Harry’s track. And honestly, how astrologically on-brand is it that, on the heels of a Leo Moon—when everyone’s desperate for center stage grandeur—Harry drops an album called Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally? I mean, if your Venus isn’t in Scorpio, you’re about to learn a thing or two about passion and the art of the glittery comeback . Imagine posters screaming “we belong together” all over Europe and Instagram getting whiplash—platinum-selling pop infamy meets cosmic kismet . So, as I listen for the disco ball to crash through my zodiac chart, I can’t help but ask: Will the stars align for Harry’s latest? Or will the Internet (again) crash under the weight of one man’s return to the groove? Maybe it’s wishful thinking fueled by too many Mercury-in-Pisces memes, but I have this feeling—this is more than an album drop . It’s a saga, a spectacle, and oh yes—a sign from the stars . Harry Styles is finally coming back.
The superstar revealed on Thursday that he is returning to the music scene for the first time in four years with the release of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. The Brit dropped the cover art for the 12-track record, out March 6, on Instagram. It shows a sunglassed Styles dancing under a disco ball.
The news comes after a teasing campaign with billboards and posters plastered around Europe, stating, “we belong together,” and “see you very soon.”
Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally was produced by Kid Harpoon, the British songwriter-producer who has worked on all of the artist’s previous albums. It comes as Styles has been reported to have booked a second residency at Madison Square Garden, though that update is yet to be confirmed.
Styles’ website already shows merchandise for the new album, including Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally fanny packs, cameras, cassettes and vinyls. The site reportedly crashed when the news was made public at 9 a.m. PT.
Styles flew to fame as a member of One Direction before breaking out on his own and releasing a solo album in 2017, Harry Styles. This was followed by Fine Line in 2019 and Harry’s House in 2022, catapulting the singer to glory with hits like “Sign of the Times,” “Lights Up,” “Watermelon Sugar” and “As It Was.”
Harry’s House was a No. 1 album in his native U.K. and became certified platinum in the U.S. with over a million sales swiftly after its May 2022 release. The record won the coveted album of the year at the 2023 Grammys and was also named album of the year at the Brit Awards shortly after. His two-year Love On Tour spanned 173 shows and grossed over $600 million.
The upcoming album marks his first return to music since the death of his fellow One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, who died on Oct. 16, 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Styles wrote at the time that “it was an honor to be alongside” Payne, whose “greatest joy was to make other people happy.” He later attended Payne’s funeral alongside Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.
In the time since Styles’ voice last graced our ears, he has seemingly become a passionate marathon runner, having participated in the Tokyo and Berlin marathons. The singer has also spent a considerable amount of time in Rome, Italy, and was even seen waiting with legions of Catholics when Pope Leo XIV was elected the new pontiff. Elsewhere, his lifestyle brand Pleasing made headlines last year by releasing sex toys and lube to sit alongside its usual beauty products and clothing items.
Of course, he’s a man of many talents and has featured in a couple of big Hollywood films, most notably Dunkirk, My Policeman and Olivia Wilde’s Venice-premiering Don’t Worry Darling.
