Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk at a Turning Point USA event on September 10, Tyler Robinson was arrested in connection with the murder and is currently awaiting trial.
As a fallout of the incident, Robinson’s boyfriend came under investigation, given their romantic connection and the fact that the accused allegedly confessed to assassinating Kirk in a note left behind at the pair’s shared apartment.
While he wasn’t charged with any crime, a four-person security detail from the FBI was attached to him, seemingly for protection.
Now, according to Fox News Digital, the agency has withdrawn protective services previously assigned to the 22-year-old.

Currently, the reason for the decision remains unknown, as the FBI has not provided a public explanation. The agency also didn’t clarify whether the security detail had been replaced by one from the local law enforcement.
However, the protection was likely removed because the agency felt that with Robinson in custody and no credible threats against Twiggs, it was no longer necessary.

Previously, a relative of Twiggs also shared with the outlet the circumstances that led to Twiggs meeting Robinson.
According to the individual, it all began with Twiggs moving into a townhome in St. George, Utah, with several college roommates during his gender transition. He had previously been kicked out by his parents at the age of 18 and had spent the years before the move living with his grandparents.
“The real reason he was acting out was because he was using drugs and alcohol, and was addicted to gaming,” the relative said about Twiggs’ decision to move. “He had always tried to put on the act that he had changed.”

More insight into Robinson and Twiggs was shared by a relative who spoke with News Nation.
The relative claimed that the duo had “antisocial” traits, which seemingly stemmed from their bizarre gaming lifestyle.
“Being as antisocial as they were, from my understanding – you know, playing these games and being part of this, this Discord group … they didn’t seem like they were in a real world,” the relative remarked.
They also noted that the duo did not previously have this habit and were excelling in other areas before the change.
“Both of them are super smart…[Lance] was a concert pianist – he has talent for piano. [His] music was off the charts – not normal, it was very impressive,” added the family source, per the New York Post.
“And that’s kind of what I heard about Tyler is that he was just so smart,” the insider further remarked. “It’s just a shame that these kids had so much potential and so, such a bright future.”

At the moment, Twiggs is said to be residing with his family as his lover awaits trial.
It is unclear whether he has had any physical contact with Robinson, who is being held in a special housing unit at the Utah County Jail, or whether he intends to attend court proceedings.
A trial date has yet to be set for Robinson, as the case is still in its initial stages. He has already made his first in-person court appearance in December and is expected to appear again on January 16 and January 30.

The alleged killer of the right-wing activist is charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and committing a violent offense in the presence of a child.
Robinson has also been charged with two counts of obstruction of justice and two counts of witness tampering.
If found guilty at trial, he faces life in prison or possibly the death penalty, as prosecutors intend to seek capital punishment.
