Ever wonder if you need a cosmic kick in the pants to finally get your act together? Well, Paddy McGuinness might just be the Virgo we all didn’t know we needed—meticulous, determined, and apparently unstoppable when it comes to the grueling ‘Hard 75’ challenge. Starting not in January but smack in the middle of autumn, after admitting to a couple of months of binge eating (hey, nobody’s perfect), Paddy showed us it’s never too late to flip the script on yourself. At 52, with an impressive transformation that would make even a Capricorn jealous, he endured injuries, biting cold jogs, and two workouts a day—one outside, no less—proving that sometimes the stars align with sheer grit and a no-nonsense diet plan. So, if Paddy can bravely sweat through 75 days of strict rules—no cheat meals, gallons of water, and daily self-snaps—maybe your zodiac sign isn’t the only thing pushing you to change this year after all. Paddy McGuinness has shown off the success he’s had with his attempt at completing the ‘Hard 75’ challenge, a weight loss scheme which lasts 75 days and involves sticking to some strict rules.
Many people have lost some weight as their resolution for the new year, but the former Take Me Out host appears to have shown that you can start at any time in the year, as he explained that he started back in September.
McGuinness explained that he’d begun on 22 September after ‘two months of binge eating’ and said he couldn’t believe ‘how much I’d let myself go’.
So he took up the ‘Hard 75’ challenge and decided to see how well he’d do, and the result has been an incredible body transformation, which has left him with an impressive set of abs.
Remember, this is a man aged 52, so if he can manage the Hard 75 challenge, then you can give it a go as well.
There were trials and tribulations along the way as he picked up some injuries and strains along the way, but Paddy persisted and reached a point where ‘everything kicked in’, and he started feeling the results.
He also shared some pretty dramatic ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures on social media where he went from a bit of a belly to a much more sculpted physique, which had someone telling him they’d ‘leave my buzzer on for you’.
The winter weather posed some problems, as when he started with the outdoor exercise in late September, there was still some autumnal sun, but it soon turned to jogging in the wet, windy darkness.
For his indoor workouts, he explained that he started off with ‘really light weights’ and showed off some of what he’d been getting up to with very impressive results.

There’s five main rules you need to stick to for the Hard 75 which involves a lot of work and willpower on the part of the person trying to complete it.
You’re not allowed cheat days or treats and you have to keep it going for two-and-a-half months.
The rules are:
1) Stick to a meal plan with no alcohol or cheat meals for 75 days
2) Two workouts a day lasting at least 45 minutes, one of them outside
3) A gallon (3.8 litres) of water a day
4) Read 10 pages of a non-fiction educational book each day
5) Take a picture of your progress every day
The idea is that your healthier diet and the significantly increased levels of exercise you’re getting will have a major impact on your body, while taking some time to read something that will develop your skills and improve some part of your life will sharpen your mind.
You’ve seen what it did to Paddy McGuinness, maybe it could be your plan too.
