Quentin Tarantino Just Unleashed Hollywood’s “Weakest” Actor—and the Name Dropping Has Only Just Begun!

Added on December 4, 2025 inCelebrity News Cards

Is it just me, or does Quentin Tarantino’s latest cinematic roast feel oddly aligned with today’s fiery Aries energy—bold, unfiltered, and a tad unforgiving? The legendary director, never one to mince words, has openly slammed several Hollywood actors, crowning Paul Dano as the “weakest f**king actor” in Tinseltown based on his role in There Will Be Blood. And just when you think it’s all about Dano, Tarantino doesn’t hold back on Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard either, leaving us wondering if Mercury’s retrograde has got everyone’s egos a little out of whack. But hey, when a cinematic icon throws shade this heavy, it’s hard not to lean in and take notes—especially when the man’s own tastes are as eclectic as a star chart on Halloween night. Why does Tarantino’s cosmic critique sting so much? Maybe it’s because, like astrology, it’s all about reading between the signs… or in this case, the scenes. LEARN MORE

Quentin Tarantino has called out more film stars he ‘really can’t stand’ after naming what he believes is the ‘weakest f**king actor’ in Hollywood.

The two-time Academy Award winner surprised movie fans when he called out Paul Dano over his acting in There Will Be Blood.

During an appearance on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast, he shared his favourite films of the 20th century that included the 2017 flick.

There Will Be Blood would stand a good chance at being number one or two if it didn’t have a big, giant flaw in it… and the flaw is Paul Dano,” the 62-year-old said.

“Obviously, it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but it’s also drastically obvious that it’s not a two-hander. [Dano] is weak sauce, man. He is the weak sister.

“Austin Butler would have been wonderful in that role. [Dano] is just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy.”

The Pulp Fiction director then took aim at Owen Wilson, the star from another one of his favourite films, Midnight in Paris.

“Oddly enough, I really can’t stand Owen Wilson. I mean, I can’t stand him,” Tarantino said.

“And I spent the first time watching the movie loving it and hating him.

“The second time I watched the movie, I was like, ‘Okay, don’t be such a p**ck’.

“He’s not so bad. He’s not so bad. And then the third time I watched it, I found myself watching him.”

“I don’t care for [Dano]. I don’t care for Owen Wilson,” he added. “I don’t care for Matthew Lillard.”

While some have come up with a bizarre ‘foot fetish’-related theory as to why Tarantino isn’t a fan of Dano, his co-star Dillon Freasier has defended him.

Freasier, who played the child version of H.W. Plainview in the 2008 film, told TMZ: “The film is perfect. It’s a work of art. And it’s that way because everyone was perfectly cast.”

Meanwhile, Tarantino noted that he still ‘chokes up’ when he talks about the impact Toy Story 3 had on him.

Calling it an ‘almost perfect movie’, he said: “That last five minutes ripped my f**king heart out, and if I even try to describe the end, I’ll start crying and get choked up,’ he shared, adding, ‘It’s just remarkable.”
