The 90s teen idol recently announced the sale of autographed and unsigned jerseys from one of his hit movies, “Varsity Blues.” He first launched the memorabilia sale in 2024 to raise money for cancer treatment, with his longtime partner, Kimberly, celebrating each event.
James Van Der Beek tied the knot to Kimberly in 2010, the same year his divorce from his first wife, Heather McComb, was finalized. Fourteen years after his second trip down the aisle, the entertainer announced his stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis in November 2024.

After James updated fans about the sale of signed and unsigned “Varsity Blues” jerseys on November 24, Kimberly raved about his improved physical condition in the comments. “You’re a wizard. Bouncing back, baby!!” the doting wife penned.
Kimberly’s words implied that James’ health has significantly improved amid his cancer battle. The actor looked better, smiling at the camera in the video he posted while rocking a white jersey designed with blue details, matching his character’s outfit from the 1999 movie.
The video set to Foo Fighters’ “My Hero” captured James at a basketball court, holding an American football. He twirled the ball in his hands while flaunting his number 4 jersey designed with the name “Moxon” at the back, his character from the movie.

James captioned the video with his love for fans, recalling how they had supported him when he first released the Blues jersey last year. “I was blown away by the love and support I received from all of you. It has meant more than I can ever express,” he wrote.
The TV personality hoped fans would like the new jerseys as much as they loved the last set, noting that without them the outfits wouldn’t “mean something far bigger than a movie.” He declared his gratitude to them was endless and once again reminded them of the reason behind the sale.

The proceeds from the jersey sales would go directly to supporting James’ stage 3 colorectal cancer treatment and families in similar situations. Additionally, he vowed to hand over the signed jerseys quickly, unlike last year’s event. Naturally, his words sparked supportive comments from fans.

The post received thousands of comments from fans, who joined Kimberly in supporting her husband. “You look amazing! God bless you!” someone wrote, another agreed, noting that James “looks so much better.”
A fan noted they bought the first set of jerseys in 2024 and considered buying the new ones to support James’ cancer treatment. The encouraging comments continued with an IG user cheering James on with the words, “Keep fighting the fight. We love you!!”
Those who weren’t interested in the jerseys could still support James by participating in an upcoming auction. The Blast shared that his memorabilia from “Varsity Blues” and “Dawson’s Creek” would be up for grabs from December 5–7.

Van Der Beek teamed up with Propstore for its Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, dropping rare items from his personal collection. The list included props, set pieces, and outfits from his time on “Varsity Blues” and “Dawson’s Creek.”
All the proceeds would go to his cancer treatment; however, letting go of these treasured items was a bittersweet experience for Van Der Beek. He revealed he had been holding on to these items for years, waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them.
“While I have some nostalgia tugging at me as I part with these items, it feels good to be able to offer them through Propstore’s auction to share with those who have supported my work over the years,” Van Der Beek added.

Van Der Beek sparked concerns about his well-being in September after skipping out of a scheduled appearance at a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion event. The Blast covered the story, reporting that he was replaced by his wife and children.
Although he couldn’t be present, Van Der Beek dropped a prerecorded video that left fans heartbroken over his frail appearance. Despite his fragile image, a source stressed that Van Der Beek’s family wouldn’t have attended the event if he had been in a poor state.
The source claimed Van Der Beek was doing better than he appeared, saying, “This journey is going to take a while, but he is being positive, and there is optimism that he will end up actually being OK.”
Here’s to hoping James Van Der Beek keeps bouncing back!
