Lily Allen New Songs On David Harbour Infidelity

Since the news started making its way around, the aftermath of the split has played out in a somewhat public fashion. David’s already broken his silence on their breakup, while Lily has made comments on her Miss Me? podcast alluding to cheating rumors that emerged at the top of the year.

In an episode that aired in March, Lily specifically said to her cohost Miquita Oliver, “Aging is particularly inconvenient if you get your validation from the attention of men, which I do… They seem to like them young, don’t they?”

“Older women can see the unattractiveness of men better than young, dumb women,” she later said, “which is why, essentially, men like them young and dumb.”

Well, Lily just gave an interview to British Vogue in which she offered up some rare comments about her split from David — and she also played the publication some new music that seemingly alludes to the cheating rumors.

When Lily was asked if David would remain present in the lives of her two children that she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper, she replied, “You’d have to ask him.” “Me and Sam, we’ve got a good relationship — I wouldn’t say it’s a friendship, although we are friendly,” she added. “His dad died earlier this year and we spoke a lot on the phone around then because I loved his dad and we share children together. So obviously we’ve been talking a lot about what we’ve been experiencing as a family over the past year and he’s had concerns and yeah, we co-parent.”

“My kids had an amazing experience living in America for five years, and I have a lot of compassion for my ex-husband,” she added while talking about David. “I think we all suffer.”

The profile also reveals that several songs on Lily’s upcoming album refers specifically to her marriage to David. One song, “Sleepwalking,” features the lyric “You let me think it was me in my head / And nothing to do with them girls in your bed”; another, “Dallas Major,” includes the lyrical aside “You know I used to be quite famous that was way back in the day / I probably should explain how my marriage has been open since my husband went astray.”

“There are things that are on the record that I experienced within my marriage, but that’s not to say that it’s all gospel,” she said when asked about those specific lyrics. “It is inspired by what went on in the relationship.”

Y-i-k-e-s. Well! We’ve asked David’s reps for further comment and will let you know if we hear back.
