The internet can’t stop talking about the Kylie Cosmetics founder and reality TV star being a part of A24’s The Moment, a film “based on an original idea” from Charli XCX.
On Oct. 9, Charli shared a visually polarizing teaser with a super-heavy strobe effect reminiscent of a Gaspar Noé opening credits sequence. Warning: The teaser video has strobbing effects for people who may experience seizures.
The teaser was set to Icona Pop’s 2013 hit, “I Love It,” and revealed the epic cast, which includes Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Arielle Dombasle, Jamie Demetriou, Rish Shah, Rachel Sennott, and Alexander Skarsgård.
The Moment is said to follow a rising pop star played by Charli XCX, navigating “the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena-tour debut,” according to Deadline. Charli is teaming up with director Aiden Zamiri (director of the music videos for Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” and Charli’s “360“). Aiden co-wrote the project with Bertie Brandes.

For me, Kylie’s inclusion in the movie is a major payoff for the day ones of Charli XCX. Fans of the “Everything is Romantic” singer might remember what Charli tweeted about Kylie years ago, and now it’s becoming a reality.
