What kind of cosmic mischief was Mercury up to when Lil Nas X found himself nearly naked on Ventura Boulevard, caught between a wild Los Angeles night and whatever Uranus was hurling from retrograde? Whew—let’s just say, the stars haven’t been this shaken since Leo season stole everyone’s thunder at Coachella . If you’ve ever wondered if chart-topping fame, planetary drama, and courthouse sagas could crash together in a blaze of pop-culture bedlam, this story has your answer. I’m still trying to wrap my brain around how a spell of delirium can spiral into four felony charges and a $75,000 bail, but hey—it’s 2025, and nothing’s really that shocking anymore, right?
Honestly, I feel for Montero (that’s Lil Nas X to the rest of you), because even a chart-busting Sagittarius can’t moonwalk past a brush with law enforcement, public hospitalization, and whatever mess the Full Moon’s brewed up in his eighth house . His lawyer says it’s “just a bump” and his family’s got him—personally, I think he could use a protective crystal and, maybe, a therapist with strong opinions about Neptune transits .
Still, it’s a wild ride watching a superstar quite literally fall from the heavens onto Ventura Blvd, only to land—at least for now—in treatment, not jail . Want the full tea, from delirium to courtroom drama and all the astrological finger-pointing I can muster? LEARN MORE
Lil Nas X‘s attorney has shared that the rapper is in treatment following his arrest and felony charges last month.
In August, Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, was arrested after he was found roaming through Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, nearly nude and seemingly delirious. At the time, police took him to a hospital for a possible overdose before he spent the weekend in jail. He later pleaded not guilty to the four felony charges filed against him.
After lawyers for the rapper appeared in court on Monday, they later spoke with press outside of the Los Angeles courthouse, where attorney Drew Findling shared, “Obviously, you heard the treatment word.”
“We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly for his well-being,” Findling continued in a video captured by Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon. “He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. We’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that. He’s had a great life, he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s gonna get over. And on behalf of him, his family is making sure he addresses all those issues right now.”
Lil Nas X’s lawyers did not share details surrounding his treatment.
Earlier in the courtroom on Monday, Rolling Stone reported that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Shellie Samuels modified the conditions of the rapper’s release for the ongoing inpatient care, saying, “Defendant is allowed to remain out of state as long as he remains in treatment.”
The rapper was charged with battery and resisting a law enforcement officer, and was released from prison last month after posting $75,000 bail. He later told fans on his Instagram Story, “Your girl is gonna be OK.”
“She’s going to be alright,” he continued. “Shit, that was fucking terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is going to be alright.”
Lil Nas X’s next court date is set for Nov. 18.
