On X, formerly known as Twitter, Barack 64, was one of many political figures to release a statement about Kirk’s death.

“We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy,” the former Commander-in-Chief said. “Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.”

Barack, however, was met with a wave of backlash, with many users savagely blasting the father of two.

Barack Torched By Users Over Kirk Statement

Barack, who served as the United States’ 44th president from 2008 to 2017, received numerous responses from users implying that his statement was insincere.

“Spare us,” someone wrote. “I am sure that most saying this would truly not wish this on him or anyone, for the most part. But prominent Dems certainly bear a decent amount of responsibility. To deny it is what got us here.”

Other users also chimed in and claimed the former president likely was aware of the shooter’s motivations.

“He knows exactly what motivated it,” they shared. “Everyone does.”

A handful of other netizens also put pressure on Barack to speak out against violent political party members.

“It’s not enough,” a user posted. “He needs to also condemn all the lefty lunies celebrating his death.”

One user posted a bold claim, writing, “Obama should repent and pray to God for his own soul,” while another wrote, “Somehow, I don’t believe Obama is praying … especially for Charlie Kirk.”

“Obama’s message underscores the dual role leaders play—guiding policy and offering compassion in tragedy,” someone else shared, leading another to write, “Obama prays while his policies unleash chaos. … Obama hides behind words and excuses, this is the stark difference between weakness and warrior spirit.”
