Added on August 26, 2025 inMusic News Cards

Lil Nas X has finally broken his silence after that jaw-dropping arrest in Los Angeles last week—yep, the very same episode that had him strolling the streets in nothing but underwear and cowboy boots (talk about making a statement). Now, I can’t help but wonder: with Mercury retrograde playing its mind-boggling tricks around that time, was the universe messing with our favorite Grammy winner’s vibe? The ‘Montero’ star’s bizarre escapade—singing his way down the street, mentioning an elusive ‘party’ only to end up handcuffed and facing serious charges—feels like something straight out of a cosmic drama. But despite the legal storm looming over him, Lil Nas X is reaching out to fans, reassuring us all he’s gonna be alright after what he called a “terrifying” few days. Is this a moment of reckoning or just another wild chapter in the life of pop’s most unpredictable comet blazing across our skies? Only time will tell. LEARN MORE

Lil Nas X has spoken out for the first time since his dramatic arrest in Los Angeles last week.

The rapper, 26, sparked serious concern among fans after footage of him wandering the streets in only his underwear and cowboy boots began circulating online.

Video showed the ‘Montero’ singer strutting down the street in the California city last Thursday (21 August) while singing and repeatedly mentioning a ‘party’ he was heading to.

Instead, he ended up being hospitalised and later taken away in handcuffs by police after he allegedly attacked officers and resisted arrest.

Lil Nas X, real name Montero Lamar Hill, was subsequently charged with three felony counts of battery with injury to a police officer and one felony count of resisting arrest.

If convicted, the Grammy-winning musician could face up to five years in prison.

Yesterday (25 August), Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty to all four charges. He spent the weekend in jail before his court appearance on Monday and was later released from custody.

Now, Lil Nas X has shared a message with fans via his Instagram story in regards to the ‘terrifying’ few days he has just experienced.

Wearing a vibrant green cardigan while seemingly sat outdoors, he reassured his 10.3million followers that he ‘is going to be okay’.

“Your girl is gonna be okay y’all,” Lil Nas X said. “Okay? She’s going to be alright, she’s going to be alright. S**t…”

Stifling what seemed to be a nervous laugh, he continued: “That was f***ing terrifying. That was terrifying! That was a terrifying last four days.

“But your girl’s going to be alright.”

Although he’s still in hot water legally, his supporters took to social media to share their relief after hearing from the man himself.

His lawyer Christy O’Connor said during Monday’s hearing that the rapper leads a ‘remarkable’ life, adding: “Assuming the allegations here are true, this is an absolute aberration in this person’s life.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to him.”

Lil Nas X is due to return to court for a pre-trial hearing in three weeks on 15 September.

According to Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, three police officers were injured when attempting to take the music star into custody.

“Attacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals but a direct threat to public safety,” he said.

“Anyone who assaults law enforcement will face serious consequences, no matter who they are or how famous they may be.”

LADbible group has previously approached a representative for Lil Nas X and the Los Angeles Police Department for further comment.
