Why Your Weekend Love Life Feels Like Déjà Vu—and How to Break the Cosmic Groundhog Day Without Changing Your Shoes

Added on July 25, 2025 inASTROLOGY CARDS

Ever get whiplash from the cosmos throwing a shiny new moon party while the Sun’s out here schmoozing with the cosmic slowpokes? Yep, that was this week—talk about your celestial slow dance turning into a full-on remix. Throw in retrograde Leo Mercury tiptoeing backwards like a cat in heels, and suddenly, life’s blueprint feels like it’s been scribbled over by a caffeinated squirrel. Who are you now? Who were you? And more importantly—who the heck do you wanna be when the moon hangs out with the stars next time? Meanwhile, Gemini Venus is dispatching mood-ring messages about desire, for the moment at least, while practical Virgo Mars just keeps on hustling, clueless and relentless. It’s as if the universe flicked the “shake things up” switch and handed you the controls—with a side of cosmic truth serum that’s either going to slap you or have you slapping back. So, are you ready to see those familiar trails through a new canopy of stars? Because the path might just be unfolding beneath your feet, one stargazed step at a time… LEARN MORE.

This week we had a shiny new moon simultaneous with the Sun making multiple, big-time aspects to the slow movers. Add in retrograde Leo Mercury backing away from its aspects, any aspects, and there’s a lot to rethink. About what? About life, your life specifically. About who you are, were, and would like to be.

Gemini Venus knows what it wants, at least in the moment, maybe. In any case, there’s plenty to say about it. Virgo Mars walks the talk and with retro Mercury going on, that’s backward and in heels? Don’t ask Virgo, they just work here.

But for real, for real: I’d bet you either got slapped by a fish or you did the slapping. Something came up that has a deep root, a long fuse, and you’re not looking at things the same way since. Whatever the core issue, it has popped up for reckoning, and that reckoning is something only you can put words to. Those words and that story may not yet be fully formed, but the wheels still turn.

All weekend, Gemini Venus sextiles Chiron in Aries, so we’ll get a chance to make better sense of things as we go. Shake it up in your head and pay attention each time you’re able to see things another way. Treading makes the path. You’ll see it when you see it. It’s still in process.

Finding meaning is built in. Cancer Jupiter is working on trines to Scorpio Vesta and Juno, so what’s important will float to the top and make itself known (to double down). Distilling what’s important is always a thing, but right now it’s everything and everywhere. Are you seeing the signs, making the metaphors? The joy is built in. If you’re not yet feeling hopeful, shake it up and try again.

Friday night’s Leo Moon opposes Pallas Athena then goes on to sextile Venus overnight. We’ve all got ways of doing or seeing things that don’t exactly serve us, but right now, we can understand ourselves without judgement if we choose. Create a conversation, or recreate a conversation that still feels timely. Restate your desires and get another take on that feedback.

If you really understand yourself, you’ll be able to see how whatever it is you’re about is just another way to get your needs met. Can you allow yourself to be human and loved for your humanness? Liking yourself when you’re not perfect makes you better at being you. It makes you better, and more likable. Look for the chance to like what you see in the mirror BECAUSE it’s you. Or at least begin. To know you is to love you.

Saturday night’s Virgo Moon squares Gemini Uranus and moves through the point of a yod from Saturn-Neptune and Pluto. The mutable mood is practical and open, but emotional challenges come at us sideways. Getting whipped up is a choice. It’s a choice a lot of people do make. Yes and no, I guess.

When you take a shot to your nervous system, there’s an automatic reaction; but at some point, it’s more about how we respond to our own response and what we wish to do about it. Transforming our own reality internally is a revolution that pays dividends. Being real and relatable can be quite attractive. Taking responsibility for yourself in a humble and pleasant tone and fashion showcases a generosity of spirit not soon forgotten or dismissed.

On Sunday, the Virgo Moon sextiles Jupiter, eventually putting retro, Virgo-ruler Mercury on the midpoint of that sextile. The Moon then travels through the midpoint of Jupiter’s trines to Vesta and Juno, itself forming brief sextiles to the two.

You don’t have to have a misconception of facts in order to see something different than what you think you know. See MORE. Look again. Explore other expressions of how you feel about the truth. Commit to the truth as larger than what you already know. This mood brings passionate support for genuine understanding. Go deeper. The Virgo mood also lends compassion and a practical perspective to any drama that arises as a side effect. Feeling judgey? That’s normal. Everything you think and feel is telling you who YOU are.

How was your Leo new moon week? Do you have any weekend plans?
