Ever wonder if the cosmos is on your side when you roll the dice, or if Mars is just stubbornly throwing curveballs your way? I found myself tangled in this very cosmic gamble years ago at an NCGR meetup, diving headfirst into a room full of astrology buffs while the topic was—get this—gambling. Now, I grew up hustling cards and, believe me, luck wasn’t just a friend; it was borderline absurd. I mean, I actually left Vegas with pockets heavier than when I arrived—a rarity that’s got my old poker buddies still scratching their heads. But here’s the kicker: while the presenter laid out a legit, buttoned-up system, I was itching to challenge the status quo. I stood up, ready to shake things up, confessing how I actually thrive on resistance—call it a Mars-fueled rant against the universe refusing to let me win. It might sound crazy, but hey, sometimes the best energy is the kind that pumps your blood and slaps you awake! So, if you’ve ever tossed your chips in when the stars seemed to frown, maybe there’s a deeper astrological game at play—a dance between fate’s odds and your fiery will to defy them. Curious how energy, astrology, and plain old stubborn luck collide in the world of gambling? Let’s unravel this wild ride together. LEARN MORE
Many years ago, I went to an NCGR meeting, for the first time. I was in my twenties and was just beginning to meet others who were interested in astrology. The topic of the meeting was gambling. I was interested!
I grew up playing cards for money, but beyond that, I did like to gamble and I was known to be inordinately lucky. Stupid lucky. I am one of the few people who can say, truthfully, I left Vegas a winner. This is because, my last spree, I won so much, I decided to never go back! In whatever case, I liked the topic.
The gal, presenting, shared her system with the group. It was interesting. It was solid, but it was not something I would ever use. Too cumbersome, too slow, and too analytical for me, personally. At the end of her talk, she asked for comments.
I’m embarrassed to say this now, but at the time, I thought people enjoyed hearing other perspectives. This is the climate I grew up in. Not only should one have an independent idea, you should be able to present it! I decided to share thoughts.
I said, while I appreciated wanting to have things flow when you’re risking your money; this is not necessarily, preferable for everyone. Right there, all heads turned to look at me. It was okay! I had an opinion and I wanted to share it… you know. Participate!
I qualified myself, saying I’d had success gambling and for me personally, I’d rather go up against resistance. I could see I needed to explain.
“Sometimes it’s a Mars thing. They really don’t want you to win. They do not want you to win! Well, that’s too bad! Because, I like to win and I am going to win,” I explained. “I get a lot of energy from the resistance. The more intense the opposition, the more my blood pumps. If I walk in a casino and feel rage against the customer – I’m staying!”
Some people in the group said they do not like to feel anything like that on vacation. “I understand! But if you find yourself in, Vegas, with no good timing windows, you can definitely fare well with your senses, heightened.”
I think right there, people thought I was mostly crazy. The talk ended and the last item on the agenda was to draw the winner of the door raffle. It was me. I was so embarrassed!
I still have the prize. I was a recording of workshop given by, Buz Myers.
This comes up, because a client just asked me about people who want to do things, when they sky is bad.
It reminded me of this story and also of the time, my father gambled on my death. He felt I had high odds of dying, before I was 25 years old, so he bought a life insurance policy on me.
I thought of him on my 25th birthday. Loooser!
This is another example of how energy is neutral until directed. Lots of energy is lots of energy. The type is irrelevant when the 8th house gets in the game.
