Jimmy Kimmel didn’t hold back as he blasted Trump’s use of masked agents “abducting” migrants, a move that seems less like justice and more like a bad episode of a reality show gone rogue. And protesters? Oh, they’ve been showing up, mostly peaceful but fiercely determined—because, really, standing idly by isn’t an option when your city’s under siege by what Kimmel called a “mentally ill president.” Then there’s Trump, trying to take credit for stopping fires and “saving” the city from supposed chaos—National Guard and all—like some kind of self-appointed firefighter-hero. He tore into Trump for using masked agents to “abduct” migrants, most of whom “have never done anything wrong.” Protesting that, he said, “is not only our right as Americans, it’s our responsibility.” 

Kimmel noted how Trump earlier this year tried to take credit for stopping the wildfires that hit the Los Angeles area. Trump again tried to take credit for that this week and said he saved the city from “burning” a second time by sending in the National Guard to stop the protests.
