Morgan Wallen Spills Tea on His Infamous SNL Walk-Off—and Spoiler: His Zodiac Sign Probably Saw This Coming!

Added on May 13, 2025 inMusic News Cards

So, here’s the thing: when Morgan Wallen decided to abruptly moonwalk off the SNL stage, amidst what seemed like a perfectly fine gig, did the stars write him off as “ready to vanish”? I mean, considering Mercury just staged its classic sprint through Gemini—quick-witted and impatient vibes all around—it’s almost cosmic that our country crooner wasn’t exactly in the mood for lingering polite small talk with the cast. After all, when Mercury zips through Gemini, “hang around and chit-chat” may translate to “bolt like a bull after a red flag.” Morgan’s infamous walk-off wasn’t just a headline; it became a full-on cultural speedbump—confusing fans, irking cast members, and spawning more memes than a viral cat video. Now, after weeks of speculation, jokes, and even jet-setting to “God’s country,” Morgan finally broke his silence. Spoiler: he wasn’t mad, just plain ready to clock out. So what really went down in Studio 8H? Let’s unpack this drama, complete with unexpected honesty and, dare I say, a celestial wink or two. LEARN MORE.

Morgan Wallen Explains SNL Walk-Off

For a quick refresher, Morgan was the musical guest for the March 29 episode of SNL, which was hosted by Mikey Madison. Everything seemed to go perfectly fine until the very end of the episode when, instead of hanging around to chat and congratulate the cast on yet another good show, Morgan abruptly walked off the stage.

Having already given the impression he couldn’t get out of the studio fast enough, the country singer then followed up by posting an IG story of his private jet with the caption: “Get me to God’s country,” which is a phrase now permanently embedded in my daily lexicon.

The whole thing caused quite the stir: viewers were confused, and it sounds like the SNL cast certainly didn’t love it either. In fact, Morgan’s exit was the subject of numerous jokes on the following episode, which probably gives you an idea of how his behavior was received in the writers’ room.

Amid all the backlash, a source told Variety that, despite how it may have appeared, Morgan did enjoy his time on SNL and hadn’t meant to offend anyone. And now, following reports that he refused to take part in a sketch on the show, Morgan has finally weighed in on the controversy.

Appearing on a recent episode of Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley — which, for the record, is very satirical — the 32-year-old was asked about the walk-off and whether the SNL cast made him “mad,” to which he replied: “No, I was ready to go home. I’d been there all week.”

Well, that much was obvious. Something tells me it might be a while before we see him back in Studio 8H. You can find the full conversation here.
