The Olympic gymnastics legend and her NFL hubby made a stylish splash at the 2025 Kentucky Derby on May 3, stepping out in matching lavender looks that turned heads at Churchill Downs.

But it wasn’t just their coordinated fashion that had people buzzing because it was Simone Biles’ sweet comments about wanting to start a family.

“We are obviously gonna put them in sports in the beginning so they get their bearings and learn,” Biles told E! News. “But other than that, we don’t really care what they do as long as they find their passion.”

“I’ve always wanted to be a mother, have kids,” she continued. “And just like [Jonathan], he’s always wanted to be a dad, so it’s just really exciting.”

She made it clear that there’s no pressure for their little ones to follow in mom or dad’s athletic footsteps either. “If they turn into musicians, who cares? That is still phenomenal.”

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2023, soaked in the Derby energy for the first time as newlyweds, and they were all smiles while talking about this new chapter.

“It’s just good to get out of your element and just go out and enjoy each other,” Owens said. “It’s fun. It’s our first time being here, so we’re super excited [about] the atmosphere, the energy and to see all the outfits.”

Biles has been open about her hopes for motherhood before.

Back in August, she told “Today” host Hoda Kotb that raising a family is “most definitely” part of their future.

“Me and Jonathan always talk about kids,” she said at the time. “He would have had them yesterday if he could have. Obviously, we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family, but yes, that’s definitely in our future.”

The Olympic gymnastics queen recently revealed that her husband made a small but hilarious misstep at their May 2023 destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, and it all came down to the groomsmen’s outfits.

“They weren’t wearing the correct colors I told them to, but it worked out,” Biles told E! News at the 2025 TIME100 Gala. “Whenever we got on the side, I was like, ‘What are they wearing?’”

According to Biles, the couple had decided to keep their wedding looks, including the bridal party fits, a surprise from one another. Biles gave Owens the color scheme ahead of time, but somewhere between “this swatch” and “that suit,” things didn’t quite line up.

Still, she’s not holding it against him and even made a playful plea on his behalf.

“Don’t flame my husband, please,” she said with a smile. “It’s not that he didn’t listen to me on my wedding day for the outfit. I know y’all love to flame him, but it was a good choice.”

Biles and Owens said “I do” not once, but twice, and their second celebration was nothing short of spectacular.

The couple officially tied the knot in a civil ceremony at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston before heading south for a lavish destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas on May 6, 2023. While their courthouse vows were sweet and simple, the Cabo celebration was full-on glam, and as for her bridal look? The most decorated gymnast in history stunned in a Galia Lahav gown.

For glam, Biles kept it timeless and chic.

Her beauty was handled by Ashley Stewart Beauty, with her hair installed by Jazmine Johnson. She kept her jewelry simple and classic to complement the dreamy aesthetic.

The bridesmaids wore elegant champagne-colored gowns from Revelry, while the groomsmen suited up in custom looks from Adam Ross The Suit Boss.
