Can you believe it, like, totally get this—the stars have aligned (and I’m not just talking about the usual Hollywood mess) for a “Clueless” sequel series with none other than Alicia Silverstone making a comeback! With the sun in retrograde, it’s the perfect time for a throwback, right? Now, here’s the thing that’s got me totally tripping… Cher Horowitz, the queen of ’90s fashion, might seriously be considering returning to high school drama, plaid skirts and all, just to remind everyone what a VIRGO rules the classroom scene. And let’s not forget where the original film turned 30 this year—aging like a fine wine or a rare, vintage astrology pamphlet, am I wrong?
This resurgence in a new-age, digital tv format has totally got me buggin’ – it’s like finding out your ex is in town, except this time you’re excited to see them! With that iconic dimpled smile and her heart of gold, Alicia is stepping back into those stylish shoes, and with a side of executive producer panache because, in true Virgo nature, attention to detail must reign supreme. And let’s spill some cosmic tea here, folks, Amy Heckerling’s behind-the-scenes return is like Jupiter aligning with Mars; be still my aquarius heart. While the astrological magnitude of this project is clearly off the charts, we’re still left wondering: could this be a masterclass in SEO or just a stellar storyline?
Will this series be able to outrank even the mightiest of moons in today’s streaming galaxies, or will it just be a passing comet? I guess we’ll find out. Meanwhile, ponder this, dear friends—or at least try—does TV magic still exist, or has the algorithm scooped that all up? One thing’s for sure, Alicia’s back in the game, and we’re all ready to watch her dance to the tune of this new, jazzy cosmic waltz. As if! Now, who’s ready to catch up with Cher, learn some life lessons, and maybe even outwit the Google algorithm? LEARN MORE
Clueless TV Series With Alicia Silverstone In The Works
As if! If you’re a millennial of a certain age, it’s probably wild to you that Clueless is turning 30 this year! The iconic 1995 teen comedy not only gave us iconic fashion moments, quotable one-liners, and Alicia Silverstone as the forever-fabulous Cher Horowitz — it also forever cemented itself as a classic ’90s movie. Three decades later, it’s still totally beloved by both older and younger generations.
Well, today it was announced that Alicia Silverstone is stepping back into her iconic yellow plaid suit as Cher in a brand-new Clueless sequel series in development at Peacock! The 48-year-old actress will not only reprise her role but also serve as an executive producer.
Also returning behind the scenes is Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the 1995 film, and will serve as executive producer, while Josh Schwartz (creator of The O.C. and Gossip Girl), Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss are attached to write and executive produce the series.
Now, as any millennial will tell you, this isn’t the first sequel TV series. There was a Clueless sitcom that ran from 1996–99, though Alicia did not return for it, and instead, the character of Cher was played Rachel Blanchard.
However, Alicia did reprise her role as Cher (along with Elisa Donovan as Amber) in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten.
As we await more details about the upcoming series, one thing is clear: Cher Horowitz is back, and we’re totally buggin’! Okay, are you guys as excited as I am, and will you be watching?! Let us know in the comments below!
