This candid revelation is making us wonder: have we risked too much in the name of weight loss? Curious to dive deeper into Amy’s wild ride with Ozempic? LEARN MORE.

Amy Schumer Was Bedridden After Using Ozempic

Amy Schumer is getting real about her Ozempic experience.

During a recent appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show (via People), the actor revealed that she had a “horrible experience” using the GLP-1 medication, which is typically used for diabetes but is now prescribed for weight loss as well.

Amy explained that she “tried” Ozempic three years ago, and that her experience may be tied to her possession of the GDF15 gene, which makes carriers “extremely prone” to nausea.

“I was, like, bedridden,” she said. “I was, like, vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good. So, God bless them.”

Amy went on to claim that, amidst losing 30 pounds on the drug, she found herself “shriveling away” in bed while dealing with nausea following the weekly injections.

“I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So what’s the point?” she said.

Fair enough!
