Jhené Aiko’s Home Burns Down In Los Angeles Wildfires

On Thursday, the “While We’re Young” singer shared that she and her children had lost their home in the blaze. “Me and my children’s home is gone,” she began, referring to her daughter, Namiko, 16, whom she shares with ex O’Ryan, and her son, Noah, 2, whom she shares with her longtime partner, Big Sean. “Burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy.”

Jhené said that while she was “thankful” for her and her family’s safety, she was devastated to have to start again “from scratch.”

“My heart is so heavy,” she said. “God bless us all,” Jhené added, saying she was praying for everyone affected by the fires.

While many sent love and support in the comments:

Eventually, Jhené took to the comments to respond. “The fact some of you think I have Paris Hilton money is wild,” she wrote. “I don’t got it like that.”

Jhené added that it’s also, tragically, her second house fire after her family home burned down when she was a kid. “When I was in the 2nd grade, our home burned down with everything in it,” wrote Jhené, who was born and raised in LA. “I never understood why some of the kids at school were so mean about it, because they thought we were rich when we weren’t. But they thought we were rich because we had love!!”

Jhené said that while her financial circumstances have certainly improved since then, she also works hard for what she has. “I am fortunate enough to be in a better position than back then. And I pray I can have as much grace as my mother did during that time,” she said. “I work very hard for my family.”

Jhené reportedly purchased the Palisades property in 2023 for $5 million after listing her Encino mansion for sale in 2022. 💔
